This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in school life, helping to create a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime environment for our pupils. The role includes supervising students across the school site, supporting positive behaviour and wellbeing, and helping ensure a calm and orderly midday break. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and young people, can build positive relationships, and is calm, fair and professional in their approach. With Bonfire Night tomorrow, Thursday 5th November, we'd like to remind all our students and families to stay safe while enjoying the celebrations! 🎇🔥 Whether you're attending a fireworks display or celebrating with family and friends, it's important to make sensible choices and look after yourselves and others. 🎆 Choose organised fireworks displays wherever possible. 🔥 Keep a safe distance from fireworks, bonfires and sparklers. 🧤 Use sparklers safely wear gloves, keep them at arm's length and place used sparklers in water. 🚫 Remember the law under-18s cannot buy fireworks or possess them in public places. Fireworks must never be brought onto school grounds. 🐾 Think of others loud fireworks can be distressing for pets, young children and other members of our community. We've put together some important safety reminders for everyone to read, using guidance from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service. We hope everyone celebrating has a fantastic Bonfire Night! Important Update – Callerton Academy Open Tomorrow We are pleased to confirm that Callerton Academy will be open as usual tomorrow, Thursday 22 October. The issue with the fire alarm system has been resolved, and students should attend school tomorrow as normal. Maths 💚 at Callerton Academy: As you know, school is not open today. Below you will find a list of activities you can do from home, there is a Guide to Using Sparx on Page 2 for anyone who is having trouble. There are also some worksheets attached at the back of the booklet if you cannot get onto Sparx. Visit our maths Padlet for even more resources. Year 7 Log into Sparx and complete the work set. Important Update - Callerton Academy Closure Due to a fault with the fire alarm system, Callerton Academy will be closed to all students tomorrow, Wednesday 21 October. Extra-Curricular 💙 at Callerton Academy: We're excited to announce the launch of our brand-new Theatre Craft Club, in partnership with New Writing North! 🎬 Starting Thursday 5th November, students will have the opportunity to explore the exciting world of theatre, both on stage and behind the scenes! Led by Kema Kay from New Writing North, the club will give students the chance to develop their creativity, confidence and teamwork through a range of activities, including: 🎭 Acting and performance 🎬 Theatre production 🎨 Stagecraft and backstage skills 📖 Character development and storytelling 🌟 Confidence and communication Whether you're interested in performing on stage or discovering what goes into bringing a production to life behind the curtain, there's something for everyone! 📅 Every Thursday, starting 5th November 🕒 3:10pm–4:10pm 📍 Callerton Academy Everyone is welcome, but spaces are limited!
